 Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka and is known as the 'Silicon Valley of India'. Learn the interesting story behind the name of the city on Bangalore Travel. Once the king of Vijaynagar Empire lost himself in a place where a good-hearted woman fed the starved king with a meal of boiled beans. Obliged and pleased, the king named the place as 'Bendakaaluooru', which is derived from two Kannada words 'Benda Kaalu' or the 'Boiled Beans'.
